1. Mount Coolum Summit

Hiking to the summit of Mount Coolum is a must for any visitor. The moderately challenging hike is well worth it for the breathtaking panoramic views. Capture both the ocean and hinterland from the summit. Sunrise and sunset create epic photo opportunities, offering soft lighting and vibrant colours.

2. Coolum Beach Boardwalk

The Coolum Beach Boardwalk provides an easy stroll with stunning views of the ocean and the rugged coastline. This picturesque pathway is perfect for capturing the essence of coastal living. It is recommended to experience the boardwalk during golden hour when the landscape comes alive with a warm glow.

3. Point Perry Lookout

From the elevated vantage point of Point Perry, the sweeping views of the coastline make for excellent photo opportunities. Always be on the lookout for wildlife that are either flying above the headland or swimming amongst the rocks below. Whales, dolphins, turtles, stingrays and many types of birds are commonly seen here. 5. Coolum Surf Club

The Coolum Surf Club has an iconic view from its main balcony that overlooks the beach. The high vantage point allows for excellent photos while overlooking the lifeguards, local surfers and beach goers.

6. Stumers Creek

Stumers Creek is a less visited location where the creek meets the ocean.  It’s an excellent location for capturing reflections in the calm creek waters. Dogs are allowed off-leash here and capturing their joy can be a photographer's challenge. Skydivers also land on this section of beach which makes for interesting photo opportunities.

7. Point Arkwright

Point Arkwright offers rugged, untouched beauty with dramatic cliffs, rocky outcrops, and incredible ocean views. It is a favourite location to spot whales and other wildlife. The view looking south showcases the vastness of the Sunshine Coast beaches as well as Mudjimba Island in the distance.

8. Emu Mountain

A short walk to the summit of Emu Mountain provides a 360-degree view of the ocean and the hinterland. The variety of native bushland that surrounds the small mountain makes for an interesting capture, especially during wildflower season.

9. Second Bay

At the top of the stairs that lead down to Second Bay, you will find a specifically built whale-watching platform. This hidden viewpoint features views of both First and Second Bay.
